Week 21 – Don’t give up

The year is almost over, and many of us are thinking about what we did not do this year. We look at our notebook, where we made notes of our goals for the entire year, and find ourselves frustrated to see that many of these things have not been achieved. I really like Thomas Edison’s life history; most of us know that he was one of the biggest inventors of our history, with more than 1,000 patents, and worked until his 80’s. He was a person with determination, he did not give up on his experiments until he got things right. His childhood was not easy, he had some issues at school and his mother decided to educate him at home. Also, he developed an ear infection at an early age that left him almost deaf in adulthood. He faced various challenges, and none of them stopped him from continuing. He said “I have not failed. I just found 10,000 ways that won’t work. “(Thomas Edison 1847-1931)

I invite you to look at your year and see everything you did, and not what you did not do! Look at everything you tried that did not work. It may have been a business that you started and did not go forward with. It may have been a course that you began and you did not finish. It could be anything that you put your time into, and did not get the result you wished for out. Now stop and think. At that moment, you thought that was the right thing to do, and that it was going to work- is that true? I think so, because everything we do, we do with the hope that it will work. So do not give up!!! There are several ways to achieve our goals, and each person finds the right form at the right time. Don’t be discouraged, be determined, and believe in your ability. “Our greatest weakness lies in giving up. The most certain way to succeed is always to try just one more time”. (Thomas Edison). Don’t give up, try just one more time.
